Fred Pfeiffer Emperor Red 1972

by William Stevenson, from Bantam books 1972

Fred uses the Triangle Design on this cover
The triangle suggests tension or conflict or action.
This is another cover where Fred's signature is easy to spot and in
my opinion this is another Pfeiffer on the cover cover.

This is one of the first Pfeiffer non-Doc Savage books I found. Jay Ryan did some nice touch up work on it since the cover is one of the shiny Bantam stock that got scratched and scuffed very easily.

It has the classic Pfeiffer artistic touch, and the blue ships are really cool. I agree with Scotty that that is Fred himself in the middle.

I really enjoy this cover.

The girl looks very much like Mercedes, the girl he was married to in the late 60's. They seemed a very happy couple when I first saw them together in 1968 or 1969.
