Robert Weilert (Fred's cousin, and a member of this blog!)informed me that I may only have one person left in the world who may be able to answer questions about Fred Pfeiffer, and that was his sister Linda. I worked through the Pfeiffers who run the Commercial Lithographing Co. in KC, but didn't hear anything. Then, months later in Feb 2008, out of the blue came a short letter and this wonderful picture from Linda. It was very thrilling to have an actual picture of the man! Unfortunately, Linda did not provide her address so future correspondence was not encouraged. Fred is looking quite dapper in this photo and resembles an un-mustached Omar Sharif, as once claimed in an email to me by Robert.
I am Hollis McCray-Clark. I knew Fred, originally, through my sister for many, many years. She modeled for some of his artwork, while in NYC and Los Angeles.
So there are at least two more people that knew Fred and we are still here. He loved tennis and was very physically fit. He was a kind soul that cared about everyone.
Looking at that photo is like time standing still. Fred was a well-dressed and well-mannered man. He is eternal. He lives through his art and his still soul lives on. Love to you both for creating this Memorial for Fred's work and for his time on this planet! Fred and his work must live on! Hollis
