Back in the very early search for Pfeiffer book cover, Rob Weilert said to check out Daphne Du Maurier titles. Boy, was he right! Pfeiffer did a whole slew of them for Pocket in the early '70s. I keep finding more covers to this day!
That's Fred himself in the picture. He very definitely drew this character just by striking the pose he wanted and looking into the mirror. He had an unmistakable profile from a certain angle, and THIS is that angle. But, he added the moustache of course.
