Fred Pfeiffer : Doc Savage - Murder Mirage - 1972

by Lawrence Donovan / Kenneth Robeson
Fred does another moody image for the Bantam
Doc Savage Reprint series.

Another stellar image for the man of bronze.
Looking like the metallic figure that is always
ready to dish out the justice. This was a bit dark
so I brightened it up.

Ah, Murder Mirage. this was always one of my favorite Doc covers of the whole series.

The figure of Doc is bronze and magnificent. The menacing sky with the band of yellow. The blue-black Bedouin is amazing. I always loved the green light beaming out of the lantern. An astounding piece of art!

I love this cover so much that I commissioned Scotty to paint it for me...the first of several. It proudly hangs in my living room.

This was my first Doc. Bought it at a grocery store when I was 10. Forty years later I can remember that cover 'speaking' to me.
