I love the coloring, especially on the castle. The falcon is great, the girl is great (I like the red cape!)and the whole scene is very evocative and picturesque.

I would buy this original painting if it were available.

I well remember this one from my collection of book covers, because this was one of my favorites. I loved the coloring, especially the blue of the girl's dress and the manner in which it was painted. And, there's one of those distinctive Pfeiffer trees, which for me are a valuable identification guide to works by Fred, although this particular work is clearly Pfeiffer throughout. The background, figures, color scheme, everything. . .is instantly recognizable as being by Fred's hand. A truly beautiful work, and a very important piece to use for careful and serious study if one is interested in learning to emulate Fred's style...except Scotty, because he's already achieved a superb ability to paint in the same vein as Fred.
