Another fabulous rendering by Scotty Phillips of the superb Pfeiffer Doc Savage cover to Bantam Book #72 The Metal Master.

This proudly hangs in my house.

As I look this one over, I see a few things, I would like to change, sigh. I remember in the middle of doing this painting my life and world changed dramatically. I wont bother to go into details, but this one took a while to do.

After the major incident the changed my life forever, my father became ill and I had to call an ambulance to take him to the hospital. If I remember right, I was about halfway finished with it and a young EMT passed my working area and was looking at it. She was around 23 to 26 years old and she said she loved it. Wanted to know how much I wanted for it and who or what the subject matter was. She gave me the inspiration to finish it. She also renewed my faith in the Doc Savage character and Fred's work with him. She wasn't spoiled by Bama and she found the character interesting. Plus...She was absolutely beautiful. I caught her looking at it again before she left.

I really like the scientific equipment in the background. And I enjoy the colors that Scotty painted around the equipment.

And Doc is killer!

Great job by the Magic Man Scotty, as always.
