Fred Pfeiffer : The Roman Spring Of Mrs. Stone - 1976

by Tennessee Williams
Fred's illustration for another
Classic Author.

Think she is the controlling type?
very Gothic looking painting here.
the classic lady in front of the house and
a man coming after her. I love the rose
peddles on the ground at her feet.Could it
be symbolism of a love lost. The piece is
a bit dark, but I like the typical Pfeiffer
tree and domed building.

It is nice to see a Pfeiffer illustration on a famous author's book.

Classic Pfeiffer painting style that made this one easy to spot.

This book deals with a woman's classic beauty that is fading, which is probably symbolized by the rose petals that have fallen from the flowers.
