The color scheme on this illustration is nicely done. This is the 8th or 9th du Maurier book that Pfeiffer had done between 1970 and 1971. Then they got reprinted again very shortly after that with new cover art.

I think that this particular cover shows Fred in transistion from his earlier work into his more classic painting style. It has elements of both styles.

Very nice and excellent detail, as always.
