Fred Pfeiffer: Run For the Trees 1976



This Bantam cover features a big and bold Pfeiffer signature.

I always thought that the back illustration did not resemble Pfeiffer's work. Then one day I found a previous printing of this book and that illustration was the front cover of the book!

So the back cover shown here is not a Pfeiffer, as suspected!

This is the first instance that I am aware of where the front cover of a book was featured on the back cover of a subsequent printing.

Also note that the hatted hunter appears to be the same pose as one of the hunters on The Hot and Copper Sky paperback featured previously.
