I ordered this book and it came in the mail last night. It surely did not look like a Pfeiffer to me. I scanned it and then blew it up to look for a signature. Didn't see anything resembling a signature.
Then I checked the copyright page and there it was: "Cover art copyright 1983 by Fred Pfeiffer".
I wish all cover artwork was acknowledged somewhere in each book. It sure would make the search much easier!
