Of all the known Pfeiffer covers, this one might be the least inspired of them all.There are touches of his brilliance, like the operating scene in the background, but the central figures don't look like they are finished, to me.I guess the maestro deserves to have a mediocre cover now and then! Seeing as most of his other covers blow us away.
Very true. The operating scene in the background is clearly the highpoint of this piece, but the overall design is lacking: foreground and background unable to mesh effectively.Still, it's serviceable as a study of some aspects of Fred's style.
